Hello world!

Welcome to Colonial Blogs. We decided to start these blogs in an attempt to provide open discussion and greater interactivity amongst DC readers.

This blog specifically will be about the news section of the DC. We will try to bring you credible and accurate information fast before we prepare a full-fledged article. It provides us an oppurtunity to informally report on happenings without formally publishing an article while refraining and clarifying rumor-mongering. For instance, we may, from time to time, post what we’re working on and what you can expect in future issues once we do some more reporting. It’s all in an effort to accurately inform you of what’s going on as quick as we know it without making things up.

Do we actually expect you to read this? We hope you do. Most of your probably won’t care, which we don’t really blame you for. But I’m sure a lot of you have asked while reading the DC, “Why is that news?” or “What does that mean?” Perhaps this can answer that.

For those media watchdogs on this campus, have no fear: we intend to uphold every iota  of journalistic professionalism in these blog posts because we are still, fundamentally, a newspaper, and we’re here to clear up misconceptions, not provide more.
We encourage you to post comments and ask questions if you need some more context on article. We don’t expect you to visit it everyday, but just keep it in mind while your surfing the ‘net. Add it to your Firefox bookmarks and check it every once and a while to see if there is any news that you need to know before our next issue comes out.  Set up on of those nifty RSS Readers and check us out while your religion professor rambles on about Tantric Buddhism… that’ll be fun.
And the next time you have a question about what we publish or have the urge to curse or mock our coverage–like we all often like to do with our favorite media outlets–take a minute to visit us here to see if we explain our rationale.

One last thing: at the end of my posts, I will try to include THE CONCLUSION, which I hope effectively summarizes the post. So…

THE CONCLUSION: We’ll bring you the latest hard news that is not yet ready for publication but that is accurate enough to share with you. We’ll also provide more context and additional information where necessary.
