Protesters Greet Coulter Outside

We reported that when Ann Coulter came to campus on Friday, there was very little protest and that GW students were, while disapproving, mostly respectful toward Coulter during her remarks.

Unbeknownst to us was that there was a group of protesters waiting outside to greet Coulter before she entered the Marvin Center. According to video on Bradblog.com, students waited along H Street, shouting:

  • “She should not be at our school!”
  • “Racism, and anti-women… we will not leave ‘till you forgive them!”
  • “It’s bullshit! Get of it! This bitch is made for profit!”
  • “Racist, sexist, anti-gay! Right wing: make it go away!”

Throughout the week, bright yellow signs were posted throughout campus by GW Students for Iraq bearing some of Coulter’s more inflammatory quotes and calling for protesters at Friday’s GW College Republican-sponsored event. It is unknown if they attempted to enter the event in the Marvin Center Continental Ballroom and the adjacent Amphitheater, which closed its doors quickly after filling to capacity.

Coulter makes a little cameo at the end of the clip, while driving away in her car. From what is looks like, the people who approached the vehicle (save the cameraman) were supportive of Coulter and joke with her about the “stupid questions” some people asked.
