Thorpe nominates Cabinet members

Student Association President-elect Lamar Thorpe ‘07 nominated seven out of the eight Executive Cabinet Positions early this morning. These nominees must be confirmed by the Rules Committee of the senate.

• Vice President of Community Affairs: Derek Platt ‘08
• Vice President of Financial Affairs: Stephanie Adelman ‘07
• Vice President of Judicial and Legislative Affairs: Peter Fu ‘08
• Vice President of Public Affairs: Andrew Cooper ‘09
• Vice President of Student Activities: Richard Fowler ‘09
• Vice President of Undergraduate Student Policy: Nicholas D’Addario ‘08
• Co-Chair of the Joint Committee of Faculty and Students: Charlie Leizear ‘07

In an email to senators, Kirk Haldeman ‘08, Thorpe’s Chief of Staff, called for patience. “Lamar understands that it is his elected duty to fill these top posts.”
Thorpe said in a press release, “In the interest of appointing the best candidates for the positions of directorships and committee seats, additional time is needed for a diligent process.”

The Rules Committee will meet on Sunday to interview and deliberate the nominees before either rejecting them or sending them to the entire Senate.
