Seinfeld to headline Colonials Weekend

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld will headline Colonials Weekend, according to an advertisement on myGW posted Wednesday night (right).

Seinfeld, best known for the hit NBC comedy that bore his name, will kick-off parents’ and alumni weekend on October 20.

Colonials Weekend is a three-day event sponsored by GW’s Alumni Association for parents and alumni. Typically, the school hosts a comedian on Friday night and a musical act on Saturday.

Past comedians have included Jon Stewart and Dana Carvey.

The talent for Saturday night has yet to be announced. Last year, the Boston Pops performed, while the year before featured Patti LaBelle.

Typically, acts have been announced and tickets on sale prior to Colonial Inauguration so parents of incoming freshmen can purchase tickets while at GW. It is unclear what led to this year’s delay.
