GW, student reach settlement over mental health suit
GW has reached a settlement with Jordon Nott, a former student who filed a lawsuit against the University last fall over his treatment after an Oct. 2004 mental health hospitalization, suspension, and withdrawal from school, the University announced today.
“I hope that this difficult experience will result in positive changes in how student mental health issues are handled at campuses across the country,” said Nott, in a statement. “And I certainly hope that other universities will not discipline their students for seeking mental health treatment.”
The University said that all parties agreed that the terms of the settlement should be kept confidential.
