Suspicious Package Reported on E Street

Around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday a suspicious package was reported on E Street between 19th and 21st Streets, according to the Metropolitan Police Department, who blocked the area off to cars and pedestrians.

Students inside 1959 E Street and the Elliott School were not allowed to exit the building. In addition, students returning to their dorm or heading to class in the Elliott School were not permitted to enter the area.

“I’m kind of weirded out. I’ve never had this happen,” said Mijin Paik ’07, who was returning home to 1959 E Street from a chemistry lab.

Around 7 p.m., MPD reopened the area to pedestrians.
