New VP and General Counsel appointed

Former GW law professor Beth Nolan will return to the University as vice president and general counsel beginning in December, according to a press release Tuesday.

From 1999 to 2001, Nolan was the first woman to serve as counsel to the President of the United States, according to the release. She currently is a partner at Crowell & Moring LLP.

Her new position will make her the University’s chief legal officer, in charge of coordinating all legal services for GW, and have her involved in the governance of the Board of Trustees.
