Happy Birthday to Us
Happy Halloween everyone!
Halloween is one of my absolute favorite holidays. Every year I look forward to Oct. 31 with great anticipation. For the past two years, though, it’s not just the holiday – it is also a very important birthday.
Two years ago today, The Daily Colonial published its first issue ever. I served as Editor-in-Chief, my co-founder Brittany Lannert as Opinion Editor, and current EIC Riki Parikh as Metro Editor. Emma Zayer saw her first year as Arts Editor, and Managing Editor Gillian McHale started out as one of the arts writers.
It’s amazing how things can change.
So, happy birthday to The Daily Colonial. She surprised me by exceeding every expectation. And good luck to a new generation who take over this coming year.
A little later, I’ll be posting again about the Colonial’s future. This year, we are giving the student body a voice in our governance, and you could be directly involved, so be on the lookout for that.
For now, though, have fun Trick or Treating. Candy can be delivered to my mailbox in the lobby of 2129 G Street.
*Cough Cough*…Don’t forget who’s been a Cinema Columnist since January 2005.
