‘Glocalization’ lecture today

Female genital mutilation and ‘glocalization’: Safari and Maasai culture in Africa

Join The Daily Colonial in welcoming Patrick Mendis, Ph.D., an adjunct GW professor, for a conversation about the controversial practice and the questioning of cultural rights versus individual rights.

The lecture will be followed by a 20 minute question and answer session about FGM and other issues related to glocalization, the increasingly local nature or globalization.

The event will be held in Marvin Center 307 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., May 3.
