			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><em>The Daily Colonial</em> wishes to recognize three of our staff members for their accomplishments in the past week.</p>
<p>Joshua Meredith &#8216;07, former sports editor and current senior columnist, was awarded first place in the Society of Professional Journalists&#8217; regional Excellence Awards in the Online Opinion and Commentary category. His work is now headed for the national level of the competition.</p>
<p>Former Managing Editor Gillian McHale &#8216;08 was honored by our Executive Committee with the title of Editor Emeritus, and will now serve on <em>The Daily Colonial&#8217;s</em> advisory Trustee Council.</p>
<p>Corbbmacc O&#8217;Connor &#8216;10 moved from his position as technical director to interim general manager this week. He is slated to permanently fill the role pending confirmation.</p>
